About me
I'm Teneisha, but most people call me Mini. Growing up in Jamaica, I saw firsthand what happens when money becomes a source of stress in relationships. My parents argued about it constantly, and as a child, I remember feeling the tension in the air every time money was brought up. My mother, who depended on my father financially, always drilled one thing into my head: “I don’t want this life for you.” Her words stuck with me, and I made it my mission to create a different future.
So, I did what many of us are taught—work hard, be successful, and make sure you can stand on your own two feet. I spent approximately ten years building a solid career in the finance industry, learning everything there was to know about managing money and becoming independent. From the outside, it looked like I had it all: a steady job, financial security, a beautiful family, and a marriage to my best friend. But behind closed doors, things weren’t as perfect as they seemed.
Despite all my success, I felt a growing sense of disconnection in my relationship. Resentment was bubbling beneath the surface, and I found myself walking on eggshells just like I did growing up. The love was still there, but the challenges were undeniable. That’s when I hit rock bottom—realizing that even with all the financial stability I had worked so hard for, I wasn’t truly happy. And I definitely wasn’t living the life my mother had envisioned for me.
I sought out therapy, hoping for answers, but I quickly realized it wasn’t enough. I needed more. I became obsessed with understanding why we struggle in relationships and how deeply our upbringing shapes our mindset around both love and money. I studied neuroscience, psychology, and relationship dynamics, uncovering how deeply ingrained patterns from childhood continue to affect us in our adult lives. And as I began to understand myself better, I realized this wasn’t just my story—almost everyone around me was fighting similar battles, especially those of us raised in Caribbean households.
This personal journey inspired me to become a Certified Relationship Coach. With over 100 hours of client coaching experience, I’ve been trained by The Relationship School's trauma-informed program, which has given me the tools to help others navigate their own struggles. I’ve also immersed myself in Positive Intelligence, using neuroscience to teach clients how to shift their mindset and break free from the limitations that hold them back in their relationships and financial goals.
My approach is unique because I get it. I know what it feels like to carry the weight of cultural expectations and still feel stuck despite external success. I know the struggle of balancing love, independence, and financial stability. My goal is to help you break the cycle of stress and frustration and create a life that truly feels aligned with who you are.
